Jacob was born on February 24th, 1679 in Andover, Essex, Mass.  Jacob's father is Samuel Preston and his mother is Susannah Gutterson.  His paternal grandparents are Roger Preston and Martha; his maternal grandparents are William Gutterson and Elizabeth. He had a brother named Samuel.  He is the younger of the two children.
