Jane was born on December 3rd, 1780 in Mecklenburg County NC.  Jane's father was Alexander Porter Sr and her mother was Margaret Leeper.  Her paternal grandparents were William Porter and Elizabeth; her maternal grandparents were James Leeper Jr and Jean Armstrong.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 84 on December 7th, 1864 in Mecklenburg County NC.
