Mary was born on November 8th, 1750.  Mary's father was Capt Benjamin of Nantucket Marshall and her mother was Mary Macy.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Marshall and Mercy Mary Short; her maternal grandparents were Richard Macy and Deborah Pinkham. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Benjamin, Charles, Judith, Lydia, Hepsabeth and Ruth.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 70 in 1820.
