I am searching for relatives and ancestors of James Wilson MARSHALL who discovered gold in California. I have been told I am related. His boyhood home is in Lambertville, Hunterdon County, NJ, 'the Marshall House'. James was born Oct 8 1810 Woosamonsa (Round Mt. Farm) 2 mi. west of Marshall's Corner, Hopewell Township [now Mercer Co.], NJ. He lived in Lambertville about 1817-1834. His siblings were Abigail MARSHALL (m. Smith ELY), Mary MARSHALL (m. Martin L REEVE), Rebecca MARSHALL (m. Thomas B CARR), Sarah MARSHALL (m. Peter C HOFF). James' parents were; Philip MARSHALL b. ? - d. 1834, Sarah WILSON. Philip's siblings; William MARSHALL (m. Catherine LARISON), John MARSHALL II (m. Charity GOLDEN, Rebecca MARSHALL (m. Jonathan TITUS). Philip's parents; John MARSHALL 1762-1804, Rebecca HART 1766-1791. My ancestor is Joseph (Joe) MARSHALL, b. Apr 4 1826 OH - d. Oct 19 1904 KS, m. Mar 26 1860/61, Lydia Spar HENDERSON - FORSYTHE, (one of 11 chldrn.), b. Feb 28 1831 OH - d. Apr 4 1927 near El Dorado, Butler co, KS. Lydia prev. m. Allen FORSYTHE - 2 sons; Allen (Al) FORSYTHE & Ambrose (Joe) FORSYTHE. Joseph & Lydia had 6 chldrn.; Mattie MARSHALL b. 1862 - d. 1939 KS (m. Mr BAILEY), William (Will) MARSHALL b. 1861, Elmer Bertus (Bert) MARSHALL b. 1864 Indiana - d. 1949 CA (m. Emma Jane PIPPIG 1893 KS, 6 chldrn.), Dillon (Dill) MARSHALL (KS), son & dtr. died at birth.
