William Wirt Henry A.M., LL.D.

William Wirt was born in 1831. William Wirt's father was John Henry and his mother was Elvira Henry McClelland. His paternal grandparents were Patrick Henry and Dorothea Spotswood Dandridge; his maternal grandparents were Hon Thomas Stanhope McClelland and Margaret Cabell. He had a brother and a sister, named Thomas Stanhope and Elvira Bruce. He was the second oldest of the three children.
