Thomas was born in 1716.  Thomas' father was Robert Spilsbe Coleman III and his mother was Mary Clayton.  His paternal grandparents are Robert Coleman II and Ann Spilsbe; his maternal grandparents are Samuel Clayton and Susannah. He had three brothers named Samuel, Robert and Spilsbe. He had a half-brother named John.  He died at the age of 79 in 1795.
