David was born in 1796 in Person Co., NC.  David's father was Jeremiah Brooks and his mother was Elizabeth Thomas. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Logan, Green, Nancy Woody and Janes.  He died at the age of 99 in 1895 in Benton TN.
