John was born in 1688.  John's father is Valentine Ware Sr and his mother is Mary Lee (Leigh).  His paternal grandparents are Peter Ware Jr and Jane Valentine; his maternal grandparents are Col William Lee and Mary Green. He had three brothers named Nicholas, Edward and Valentine.
