Zachariah Ward

Zachariah was born in 1793. Zachariah's father was Nathan Ward and his mother was Sara Saraight Canoe (Cherokee). His paternal grandparents were Wells Ward and Rebecca; his maternal grandparents were Chief Dragging Canoe Tsiyogunsi Tsiyugunsini "the Otter lifts it." Canoe and Ugalogv Leaf. He had five brothers and a sister, named Stephen, Lewis, Enoch, Benjamin, James and Nellie. He had a half-brother named Alexander. He died at the age of 85 in 1878.
