Auke was born before May 21st, 1682.  Auke's father is Jan Stevense Van Vorhees and his mother is Femmejte Auke Van Nuys.  His paternal grandparents are Steven Van Vorhees and Willemtje Sebring. He has a brother and a sister, named Jacobus and Willemtje Jansen.  He is the oldest of the three children.
