Capt Van Swearingen

Van was born on November 3rd, 1754 in Hagerstown, Washington, Maryland. Van's father was John Swearingen and his mother was Catherina Mary Stull. His paternal grandparents were Van "Maryland Van" Swearingen and Elizabeth Walker; his maternal grandparents were John Stull and Martha Jones. He had five brothers named John, Charles, Marmaduke "BlueJacket" 2, Samuel and Wapehti Elk Opressa "Indian" Van adopted never fully returned. He died at the age of 84 on July 18th, 1839 in Shelby, Kentucky.
