Newton Allen was born on May 2nd, 1850.  Newton Allen's father is Wright Absolom Stokes and his mother is Sarah Elizabeth Steele.  His paternal grandparents are Absalom LaFayette Stokes and Nancy Allen Atkinson (Adkinson); his maternal grandparents are Peter Henry Steele and Elizabeth Dannelley.  He is an only child.
