Alexander was born on February 14th, 1773 in Chestnut Level, Drumore Township, Lancaster County, PA. Alexander's father was Robert Steen and his mother was Elizabeth Boyd.  His paternal grandparents were <Unknown> and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 64 on April 30th, 1837.
