Josiah Hampton Snowden

Josiah Hampton was born in 1846. Josiah Hampton's father was George Alexander Snowden and his mother was Thirse Thurse Ann Martha Stokes. His paternal grandparents were Aaron Walter Snowden and Mary Esther Easter Webster; his maternal grandparents are Absalom LaFayette Stokes and Nancy Allen Atkinson (Adkinson). He had a brother and six sisters, named Charles Walter, Georgia, Rosinah Lora, Burnavista, Calodinia, Joicy Cornelia and Florence B. He was the oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers named Willis and Jasper.
