John was born in 1719.  John's father was John Rust and his mother was Agnes Clemens.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Rust and Martha Garner; his maternal grandparents were John Clemens and Jane. He had two brothers and a sister, named Samuel, William and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 57 in 1776.
