Matthew Harvey was born on May 2nd, 1808 in Jackson County, Tennessee.  Matthew Harvey's father was Col James J Ralston and his mother was Jane Simmons.  His paternal grandparents were Matthew Ralston and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Robert Simmons and Anne Miller.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 67 on October 5th, 1875 in Arkansas.
