John was born on January 3rd, 1789 in PA.  John's father was John Ralston and his mother is Margaret Gelvin.  His paternal grandparents are William Ralston and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents are Jeremiah Gelvin and Hannah.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 70 on June 3rd, 1859 in Shenango, Crawford Co., PA.
