David was born in 1703 in Andover, Essex, Mass.  David's father is Jacob Preston and his mother is Sarah Wilson.  His paternal grandparents are Samuel Preston and Susannah Gutterson; his maternal grandparents are Joseph Wilson and Sarah Lord. He has two brothers named William and John.  He is the oldest of the three children.
