Daniel was born in 1715.  Daniel's father is James Preston Sr and his mother is Sarah Scott.  His paternal grandfather was Thomas Preston II and his paternal grandmother is Mary Hughes (Hewes); his maternal grandparents are Daniel Scott Sr and Jane Johnson. He has a sister named Grace.  He is the younger of the two children.
