Philemon Giddings was born in 1707.  Philemon Giddings' father was Thomas Mackay Prather and his mother was Martha Sprigg.  His paternal grandparents are Jonathan Prather and Lyllie Jane Mackey (Mackay); his maternal grandfather was Thomas Sprigg and his maternal grandmother is Eleanor Nuthall. He had a brother named Thomas Sprigg.  He is the younger of the two children.
