Benijah PROFFITT

Benijah was born on November 25th, 1841 in Gatlinburg, Sevier County, Tennessee. Benijah's father was Andrew Jackson PROFFITT and his mother is Celia Betty McMahon. His paternal grandparents are Benajah PROFFITT and Sarah Byrd; his maternal grandparents are James Balfour (Balford) and Mary Ann Wilson. He had a brother named Aaron Whaley. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 57 on April 8th, 1899 in Sevier County, Tennessee. He was buried in Proffitt's Cemetery in the Glades, Gatlinburg, Sevier County, Tennessee.
