John was born in December 1642 in Oundle,, Northamptonshire, England.  John's father was Robert Newton and his mother was Elizabeth Longston.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Newton and Ann Wood.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 82 on October 13th, 1725.
