Virginia Ann was born in 1850.  Virginia Ann's father was Powhatan Powhatten L Mitchell and her mother was Angelina Watkins.  Her maternal grandparents were Watkins and Nancy. She had a brother and a sister, named Bolling Lewis and Isabelle Belle.  She was the second oldest of the three children.
