David was born about 1804.  David's father is Shadrach AFN: 39cp-4f Mims and his mother is Elizabeth AFN: 39cp-5l Kirkham.  His paternal grandparents are Robert Mims and Sarah Pace; his maternal grandparents are Henry Kirkham and Margaret Hall. He had two brothers named Seaborn Seaburn and Marshall.  He is the youngest of the three children.
