Robert was born in 1750 in Bedford Co., Virginia.  Robert's father was John Mead and his mother is Mary Abrell.  His paternal grandfather was William Mead and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth; his maternal grandparents are Richard Abrell and Elizabeth. He had two brothers named William and Abrell.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 75 in 1825 in Floyd County KY.
