Catherine was born in 1672 in Calvert County, Maryland.  Catherine's father was Col Richard Marsham and her mother was Katherine Brent.  Her maternal grandparents are Giles Brent (POSS) and Mary Kittamaqund or Kittamquna (Native American). She has a brother and two sisters, named Richard, Sarah and Mary.
