poss Manuel was born about 1847. Poss Manuel's father was William Guillermo Marchall Renegade Sailor in San Diego 1837 Marshall and his mother was marrying an Indian girl Nocar or Garra. His paternal grandparents were Joel Marshall and Hannah; his maternal grandparents were Jose Nocar and <Unknown>. He was an only child.

General Notes
- The story of William Marshall would not be complete without also tracing the lives of his wife and son. In his confession he made the brief statement:75
  
  I have lived with the daughter of Jose Nocar's as an Indian belonging to Antonino's [sic] tribe for five years [since 1846]. She has one child by me that is now alive.
