Samuel was born on January 8th, 1803 in Washington Co, PA.  Samuel's father was Samuel Marshall and his mother was Margaret Mary Cracroft.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh Marshall and Rosanna Marshal?; his maternal grandparents were Charles Cracroft and Jemima Eleanor Atkinson. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Hugh, Charles C, James A, William, John C, Mary, Eliza, Rosanna and Eleanor.  He died at the age of 69 on February 14th, 1872 in Hardin Co. OH.
