Robert was born in 1781.  Robert's father was John Marshall and his mother was Grace Maddux.  His paternal grandparents were Randall Marshall and Hannah Chew; his maternal grandparents are Robert Maddux (Madawc and Madog Madawg, Madoc, Madog, Madox, Maddeaux, Maddocks, Maddox, Maddux, Mattix, Mattocks, Mattox) and Sarah. He had a brother and a sister, named Joseph and Hannah.  He died at the age of 32 on February 26th, 1813.
