Margaret was born in 1856 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan USA.  Margaret's father was Francois  Marschal Frank   Marshall and her mother was Magdalena  Lehman Layman. She had four brothers and two sisters, named John Baptiste, Francis Frank, Anthony J, Edward, Virginia C and Pauline.  She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 84 in 1940.
