Josiah was born on October 1st, 1753.  Josiah's father was James Marshall and his mother was Patience. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Greenleaf, Samuel, Daniel, Sarah and Mary.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 78 on December 31st, 1831.
