Joseph was born about 1750.  Joseph's father was Richard Marshall Jr and his mother was Sarah Carroll.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Marshall and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Denton Carroll and <Unknown>. He had two brothers named Meredith and Elijah.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died before October 19th, 1824 in Talbot County, MD.
