John was born in 1724.  John's father was John Marshall and his mother was Mary Richardson.  His paternal grandfather was William Marshall (POSS) and his paternal grandmother is Mary Fletcher. He had a brother and three sisters, named William Martial, Mary, Annabella and Comfort.  He was the third oldest of the five children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Daniel, Charles, William, Peter, John, Elizabeth and Ann Mary.  He died at the age of 25 on November 29th, 1749.
