John was born in 1735 in Caroline, Virginia.  John's father was William Marshall and his mother was Elizabeth "Betty" Williams.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas??????NOT CJ dad:prob 1686-1763 MD  Marshall and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Lewis WIlliams and Mary Walburton. He had two brothers and six sisters, named William, Robert, Sara, Martha "Patsey" NOT Mary claimed sister of CJ john, Mary, Jannet, Mary and Jane posible sis not daughter.  He died at the age of 51 in 1786 in Caroline, Virginia.
