James Arthur was born about 1859 in Parkersburg WV.  James Arthur's father was John Marshall and his mother was Jane Nash.  His paternal grandparents were John Marshall and Elizabeth. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Martha S E, Joseph A, John Melton, M A J, Nancy M Y and Carrie C.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died on May 31st, 1935 in Waverly,.
