  • In the 1870 census this lady was out of the picture.
    In 1871 her husband James W. Porter remarried Cuprina Musgrove
    Elizabeth's sister Mary Ann Elizabeth lived until March of 1872.
    My educated guess is Elizabeth Columbia Marshall died in 1870 before the census was taken. Her Last child was born in 1866 and her husband mourned
    for a year before re- marrying. All pure speculation, but I believe it's pretty accurate. I think she may very well have died in childbirth with Sara Mabel Porter
    in Jan. 1866. For it is stated by his second wife that he returned to Ar. in 1866
    So...Elizabeth Columbia could very easily have died and been buried in Knox County,Missouri. An account of these events states that he was a widower when he returned to Arkansas with Joseph I. Porter who was Col. Joes oldest son in his company. Then about 6 months later Mary Ann Elizabeth Marshall Porter his sister in law follows with his 4 children and her 6 to live With him on a farm near
    Gillette, Arkansas. I also believe this farm may be where Mary Ann Elizabeth is buried unless she went to Almyra, Arkansas  with her son James I. Porter. around 1871. after James W. married Cuprina Musgrave. I think maybe so
