Col Joseph MCDOWELL

Joseph was born on September 13th, 1768 in Rockbridge County, Virginia. Joseph's father was Col Samuel Mercer (Judge) MCDOWELL and his mother was Mary McClung. His paternal grandparents were Capt John MCDOWELL and Magdalene Wood. He had nine brothers and a sister, named William COPY, Samuel Mercer, Caleb Wallace, William, <Unknown>, Abram Irvine, Andrew Reid, Ephraim, Alexander Keith Marshall and Mary. He died at the age of 87 on June 27th, 1856 in Danville, Kentucky.
