John Lewis

John was born in 1724. John's father was Zachary Lewis and his mother was <Unknown>. His paternal grandparents were John Lewis and <Unknown>. He had a brother named Benjamin. He was the older of the two children.

General Notes
- Another chronicle is of the Lewis brothers, Charles and Ambrose, who were also Mulattoes. They were the sons of a white man, John Lewis, and a Mulatto woman. Charles and Ambrose began serving Indentures, which were cut short by the Revolutionary War. The brothers signed on to the war in Fredericksburg Virginia, as Seamen, and then as Soldiers.
