John was born on May 25th, 1761.  John's father was Dr William Holloway and his mother was Jane Carter.  His paternal grandparents are Sir James Holloway and Elizabeth Rowland. He had a brother named George.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 61 on April 15th, 1823.
