John was born on February 16th, 1796.  John's father was Patrick Henry and his mother was Dorothea Spotswood Dandridge.  His maternal grandparents were Col Nathaniel West and confusing. He had a brother named Patrick. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named <Unknown> and Martha Catherine.  He died at the age of 71 on January 7th, 1868.
