Leon Marshall was born on April 12th, 1912.  Leon Marshall's father was Bertram Philander Ross Hendrix and his mother was Zenora "Nora" Moore.  His paternal grandparents are Bertram Philander Ross (white) and Fannie; his maternal grandparents are Robert Moore (Freed slave) Sr and Fannie (half Cherokee and half African American). He had four brothers and a sister, named James Marshall, Frank, James Allen Ross, Orville Ronald and Patricia Rose.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 19 in March 1932.
