Edward was born in 1618.  Edward's father was John Hanson and his mother was Frances Prichard.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas of Rastrick Hanson and Janet Gledhill; his maternal grandparents were John Prichard and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the four children.
