Warner was born in 1820.  Warner's father was Stephen Hale and his mother was Frances Bourne. He had four brothers and a sister, named Mastin, Fielding Lewis, Clark G, Eli Cook and Rosamond Bourne.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 40 in 1860.
