Susannah was born in 1784.  Susannah's father was John B Hackworth and her mother was Mary Preston.  Her paternal grandparents are George Hackworth and Ann Leftwich (POSS); her maternal grandparents are Phillip Preston and Mary. She had four brothers and a sister, named Jeremiah, John, Preston, Pleasant and Mary Polly.
