John was born in 1639 in St Albans,,Hertfordshire,England.  John's father was George immigrant Giddings and his mother is Jane Lawrence.  His paternal grandparents are John Giddings (Gyddyns) and Joan Purrier; his maternal grandparents are Thomas Lawrence and Joane Anterbus.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 52 on March 3rd, 1691.
