WIlliam's father was Sir John Fielding of Newnham Paddox Purefoy and his mother was Margaret Purefoy.  His maternal grandparents were Sir William of Drayton Purefoy and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died on April 5th, 1471 in Tewkesbury.
