    Granddaughter of William Field (d. 1821) and Margaret (Herron) Ramsay
    (1778-1856), his wife, m. 1812; Charles Beckwith (1793-1856) and Mary
    Rabbitt (1797-1877), his wife, m. 1819.
    Gr-granddaughter of Henry Field and Mary —, his wife; George Beckwith and
    Ann Clarkson (1762-1855), his wife, m. 1792; John Herron and Mary Stratson
    (1758-1814), his wife, m. 1777.
    [p.346] Henry Field (1735-87) was a member of the House of Burgesses from
    Culpeper, 1769-71, and also member of the convention of Williamsburg,
    1775-76, which declared the independence of the colonies and framed the
    constitution of Virginia. He died in Culpeper County, Va.

    John Herron (1740-1814) served, 1778, in Capt. Joseph Smith's company, Col.
    Nathaniel Gist's 3rd Maryland regiment of foot. He was born in England; died
    in Montgomery County, Md.
    George Beckwith (1760-1849) enlisted, 1776, as a volunteer in Capt. George
    Beckwith's company, which marched to guard Georgetown against Governor
    Dunsmore; re-enlisted, 1778, and was appointed sergeant in the same company,
    Colonel Bailey's regiment. He was born in Frederick County; died in
    Montgomery County, Md.
