    Do you know if there was a connection between Uriah and Thornton Fleming? Thornton
    was born in 1818 in Monongalia County. He was listed in the 1850 census in Marion County and in the 1860, 1870, etc census listings in Calhoun County. I feel there must be a connection between all these Ferrells in Calhoun Cty, but haven't been able to determine what it is.
    
    Thornton Ferrell was the only brother of my great grandfather Harrison Russel Ferrell.Thornton was born in 1818 on White Day Creek which forms the boundary between present day Monongalia and Marion counties.He and family migrated to Leading Creek(now in Calhoun Co.) in 1853 or 1854.
    Thornton Ferrell married Mary Knight in 1842
    and this marriage is recorded in Monongalia Co.
    Thornton's mother was Hannah Ferrell but I have not come up with his fathers name.
    The children of Thornton and Mary Ferrell were:

    Cassius C. 1846 "
    French M. 1848 "
    Lemeul E. 1851 "
    Frances M. 1853 "

    Seth 1860 "
    
    Calhoun Co. was formed from Gilmer Co. in 1856.
    
    Thornton and Thornton Fleming are the same person. He was my ggrandfather. French Miller was my grandfather. I guess that means we're related, just barely. Thanks for the information about his brother. That will help. I know his mother's name was Hannah, but Hannah what I don't know and I don't have
    a clue about his father.
