John Pekin was born on August 23rd, 1730 in Spotsylvania Co, VA.  John Pekin's father is William Duncan III and his mother is Ruth Raleigh (Rawley).  His paternal grandparents are Charles Duncan and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents are Matthew immigrant Raleigh and unk Floyd. He had five brothers named William J, Rice, James Raleigh, James or Joseph and Frederick or Charles.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 44 on September 29th, 1774 in Moore's Fort, Fincastle (Tazewell) County, Virginia.
