Elizabeth Betsy Duffield

Elizabeth Betsy was born about 1786 in PA. Elizabeth Betsy's father was William Duffield and her mother was Margaret. She had three brothers and a sister, named William, George, James and Jane. She died in June 1850 in Jefferson, Ohio, USA.

General Notes
- Joe, I have a copy of a will for William Duffield dated 29 Apr 1824 admitted to court. In it he names Margaret, his wife, and the following children: Elizabeth Phillips, George, James, Jane Walker, William. A part of the will is very dim so there may be another daughter. Since this is an "in-law" line I have not followed through on any more Duffield.
  
  I have tried working on the Phillips line, my line of interest. Other than land records (a lot of buying and selling after his death), I have not found much about John Phillips, father of John. Although I would like to believe he came from PA, I have found no proof of that. Since he died about 1819-1820 as suggested by an ad (Oct 1820) in the newspaper regarding sale of his property, the census is no help unless I research his neighbors. He bought land in 1805 so must have moved into Jefferson County about that time. His wife may have been Jane (census 1820) but that is only conjecture. I have not looked for papers regarding Jane as yet.
